COVID-19: Quebec reports one death and 633 new cases

Quebec adds 633 cases of COVID-19 infection, and one additional death.

The most recent data on the evolution of COVID‐19, in the last 24 hours, in Quebec, show:

  • 633 new cases, for a total of 1,170,654 people infected*;
  • 1 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 16,223 deaths;
  • 3,751 healthcare workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
  • Hospitalizations and intensive care: due to a change in methodology, data are no longer counted on weekends. Thus, they will be updated from Tuesday to Saturday;
  • 8,320 samples taken on August 20;
  • 279,422 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 233,974 positive: 208 declared for the day yesterday, including 176 positive.

*Remember that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.
