A 26-year-old man has been wanted by Montreal police since an arrest warrant was issued against him for possession of an imitation weapon and various misdeeds.
Menachem Mendel Cohen allegedly pulled out a BB gun when he was in front of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on August 9, around 5:50 p.m.
“He would have pointed it to the sky, put it back on his belt and entered the hospital,” said the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) in a press release.
Police arrived around 6:30 p.m., but the suspect had already left the scene. The man then allegedly fired at a residence located on Carlton Avenue, near the hospital, in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Leads were found at the scene.
“Videos from surveillance cameras as well as the meeting of witnesses confirm that the suspect would be the same for these two incidents”, declared the SPVM, specifying that there were no injuries during these events.
The suspect has blue eyes, dyed blonde hair and is 1.73m tall. He would wear a black hoodie with white lettering and blue jeans pants.
Anyone with information that could help locate the suspect can contact 911 or their neighborhood station. It is also possible to file a report anonymously and confidentially with Info-Crime Montreal at 514 393-1133 or online.
