(OTTAWA) Canadian wholesale sales rose 0.1% to $80.7 billion in June, boosted by the auto and parts subsectors in particular, Statistics Canada announced Monday.

The miscellaneous goods sector rose for the fourth time in five months, with a 3.5% gain, boosted by a 15.5% gain in the agricultural supplies industry, the federal agency said.
According to Statistics Canada, the growth reflects the demand for Canadian fertilizers due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Sales of motor vehicles and parts and accessories for motor vehicles rose 3.1% on higher sales in this industry, which rose 5.3%.
At the same time, the personal and household goods sub-sector fell 3.5%, with textiles, clothing and footwear down 12.0%, pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies down 2.5% and personal property by 6.1%.
Sales in constant dollars fell 0.1% in June, according to Statistics Canada.
