Three additional deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reported on Monday three new deaths linked to COVID-19 for a total of 16,129 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

However, the evolution of the situation in the hospitals remains unknown. The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) indicates that data on hospitalizations and intensive care are no longer counted on weekends due to a change in methodology. An update will be available on Tuesday.

Quebec nevertheless notes a decrease in the number of health care workers absent due to the virus. According to figures from the MSSS, they were 3,457 people missing in the health network, compared to more than 4,300 workers as of last Friday.

The province also reports 713 new cases of COVID-19, but this number is far from representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

In terms of vaccination, 3199 more doses were administered in Quebec.
