Tensions are still very high in the Middle East, Sunday, August 7, between Israel and Islamic Jihad. The Palestinian authorities speak of 29 dead including six children killed in Israeli strikes. Islamic Jihad retaliated, and rocket warnings were heard near Jerusalem.
In Gaza, the Israeli army continued its strikes during the night of Saturday August 6 to Sunday August 7, on the Palestinian enclave. The goal? The armed wing of Islamic Jihad, and its military leaders. The missile fire has also caused many civilian casualties: around 30 Palestinians have been killed since Friday, including six children, according to the authorities in Gaza. During the night, a residential building was hit.
In Jabaliya (Gaza Strip), late in the evening, the hospital was the scene of scenes of despair, after the death of passers-by, including several children. “We were sitting in the street, and suddenly we saw an explosion. We ran, we took the children to the cars, because there was no ambulance”, says a man. The Israeli authorities deny any involvement and assure, with supporting images, that the victims were killed by a rocket fired from Gaza. For the first time since the beginning of the offensive, the response of Islamic Jihad targeted Jerusalem.
