Again yesterday, Saturday August 13, 2022, they had to intervene at the home of an individual from Saint-Pierre-du-Palais who had lit a wildfire in his garden. In France, Burning is however prohibited by law. “Especially in the current context of repeated fires”hammers the gendarmerie.
A case far from isolated. Since the beginning of summer, dozens of individuals have been fined for this practice. The gendarmes call on the population to respect the prohibition orders in force. Ditto for barbecues on the outskirts or in forest areas: they are currently still prohibited in Charente-Maritime, which does not prevent the authorities from discovering them every week.
