The situation is changing on the fire front, despite the drought and heat waves still very present in France. On the one hand, the fire in Ardèche is fixed and that in Gironde is no longer progressing; but on the other hand, a fire broke out in the Brocéliande forest (Morbihan) on Thursday evening and has already consumed 250 to 260 hectares of vegetation. In Gironde and in the Landes, the fire is no longer progressing
The fire between Gironde and Landes has not progressed “since two days” and is “maintained”, announced this Friday afternoon the prefect of Gironde Fabienne Buccio. The area burned is still 7,400 hectares of vegetation.

The last 20 km section of the A63 closed so far will reopen “tonight at 8 p.m.”, said the prefect, on the eve of the weekend of August 15. The firefighters undertake to close this axis in less than an hour if necessary. On the ground, 361 firefighters from several European countries are beginning to lend a hand to the 1,100 firefighters already deployed.
660 ha of forest burned in the Jura
Since Tuesday, two fires have consumed around 660 hectares of forest in the south of the department. On the one hand, the Cernon fire, which burned more than 500 hectares of vegetation, is not fixed, indicates the prefect of the department on franceinfo. 170 firefighters are still mobilized, supported by a Dash aircraft. The 250 inhabitants of Cernon are however authorized to return home this Friday from 6.30 p.m., according to France Bleu Besançon.

20 kilometers further south, the Cornod fire has been fixed since Thursday noon. It destroyed 160 hectares of vegetation.
A new fire in Morbihan
The fire that broke out overnight from Thursday to Friday in the Brocéliande forest, in Campénéac, destroyed “250 to 260” hectares “at 5:30 p.m.”, said the prefect of Morbihan Pascal Bolot during a press briefing. The fire is “two-thirds content” but progress “to the west”.

More than 400 firefighters are mobilized according to France Bleu, helped by the two water bomber planes that arrived from Sweden on Thursday evening. Reinforcements, in particular from the Paris region, are also expected this Friday evening, said the prefect of Morbihan. 150 inhabitants of Campénéac and the Sisters of the Notre-Dame de la joie abbey were evacuated. Some residents were able to return home, according to the prefect of Morbihan.
In the Drôme, the fire is still active
The fire that was started by lightning last Friday in the Diois massif is still active. It burned 330 hectares and still mobilizes 250 firefighters who have been facing renewed fires since midday on Friday.
In Ardèche, the fire is fixed
The fire of Lagorce, in Ardèche, is fixed this Friday afternoon, announces the prefecture in a press release. The latest report shows more than 300 hectares of scrubland and pine forests reduced to ashes. 150 to 200 firefighters are still on site to drown the fire. Since the start of the fire on Wednesday evening, three firefighters have been injured in response, one of whom had to be transported to Aubenas hospital.

The other fires against which firefighters have been fighting in recent days, in Aveyron, Lozère, Maine-et-Loire have been fixed since Thursday. There is no significant change this Friday.
