Jean-Pierre Foucault has an open heart about his relationship with Mireille Darc

It was August 28, 2017. A date that the relatives of Mireille Darc still do not have, and will probably never forget. Indeed, the actress who sank happy days in the arms of Alain Delon, went away in her sleep, after several strokes in the last years before her death. “Mireille’s little heart, so tender, so beautiful, but so fragile, stopped beating. She fell asleep at home today, after almost a year of battles and suffering. She joined the stars and all his friends”announced his companion, Pascal Desprez, a few hours after his disappearance.

But another man was very touched by the death of Mireille Darc: Jean-Pierre Foucault. Indeed, the emblematic host of TF1 and the Miss France contest, was close to the actress and never hid it. He also evokes this particular relationship in the biography of the artist Mireille Darc, heart beating by Françoise Piazza, to be published this Thursday, August 18 by L’Archipel editions. “Mimi was my friend”he wrote in a letter addressed to the author Françoise Piazza and transcribed in the book.

Present, until the end

If the two were very good friends, their birthplaces play a big part in it. When Jean-Pierre Foucault was born in Marseille, Mireille Darc was born a few kilometers further, in Toulon. “Our Mediterranean origins brought us closer, she from Toulon and I from Marseille. As luck would have it, we ended up in the same place, on vacation. Far away… in the sun”, he remembers with emotion. The icing on the cake, the spouses of each also get along very well. “We were two couples who liked each other and life was sweet when we were together”assures the host.

It was therefore with great pain that he went to his bedside at the end of Mireille Darc’s life. “The evil set in. I often went to see her during the day, and sometimes at night, to keep Pascal company. A few words, a few looks… We understood each other. And then one evening, at her house, at the end of my visit, she looked me straight in the eye and said ‘Hi'”. The actress knew it, a few hours later, she “left in the night”.
