(Montreal) A large police operation was launched early Friday night in Montreal East, with the aim of solving a recent case of gunshots that occurred in the northeast of Montreal.

At the end of the night, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) refused to provide information about this police deployment, in order, he said, not to interfere with its progress.
The shots would have been fired at a time that has not yet been revealed in the Rivière-des-Prairies district.
In order to help the police carry out their operation, the SPVM asked the population to avoid moving around in a vast quadrilateral of Montreal-East between Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, to the north, the highway Metropolitan, to the south, Broadway Street, to the west and Marien Avenue, to the east. It is a commercial and industrial sector.
It is not known for how long the sector will remain to be avoided.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has confirmed that at daybreak, at least one of its helicopters will be sent as reinforcements to the SPVM to help it carry out the police operation.
