Fresh and expressive wines at Domaine Peylong in the Gervanne Valley

Far from the hustle and bustle of the Rhone Valley, welcome to the Gervanne Valley, a tributary of the Drôme. On the foothills of the Vercors massif, here is the village of Suze – not to be confused with Suze-la-Rousse in Drôme Provençale. This peaceful little town with around 200 souls is where the Peylong estate was established, in the hands of the Lombard family since the middle of the 19th century. Fabien and Christelle Lombard produce typical local wines there in organic farming. Several cuvées are produced on site, in AOC Crémant de Die, AOC Côteaux de Die and IGP Drôme. The youngest, Peylonade is a natural sparkling wine with a moderate alcohol content, sold in small 33 cl bottles.

Coming to Suze also means enjoying the superb landscapes of the Gervanne valley. The vast terrace of the Peylong estate is furnished, events and tastings are regularly organized there. © Radio France
