France Bleu Azur tests summer hikes in the Alpes Maritimes: The lakes of Prals

Direction the lakes of Prals

Enjoying a just reputation, the circuit of the lakes of Prals or even the “Five Lakes”, as they are called in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, allows you to enter the heart of the Mercantour while benefiting from pleasant and easy paths, reach of any walker.

The ascent of the valley of Prals constitutes at the beginning of summer a real enchantment through the flowery mountain pastures crossed by a fiery torrent.

The site of the Prals lakes, meanwhile, contrasts with the jagged edges of Neiglier and Paranova which encircle it harmoniously; relatively temperate (about 13°), because they are shallow, these lakes are suitable for swimming for the bravest.

It is possible to add to the circuit described below the round-trip ascent of the Prals drop (2,339 m) or the Cime de la Valette (2,496 m): there you will discover a complete panorama of the upper Vésubie as well as on the great snowy peaks of Oisans.
