(Montreal) 25 years ago to the day, Marie-Soleil Tougas and Jean-Claude Lauzon lost their lives in a plane crash. Jean-François Poisson pays tribute to them in the documentary Marie-Soleil and Jean-Claude: beyond the stars broadcast on True.

Star of several soap operas, Marie-Soleil Tougas co-hosted the show Fort Boyard as well as the youth program the hustlers. She was involved in many causes, including the Opération Enfant Soleil telethon. She died at the age of 27.
Her husband, director Jean-Claude Lauzon, is behind certain Quebec films that have become cult like A zoo at night and Leolo. The public at the Cannes Film Festival had moreover given an enthusiastic welcome to the latter. Embodying the image of the rebel artist, Jean-Claude Lauzon was 43 years old when their plane crashed in Kuujjuaq.
The documentary looks back on the tragic fate of the two artists, in addition to delving into the Quebec television and film world of the 1980s and 1990s.
