Four pharmacies will be authorized to vaccinate against monkeypox from Wednesday August 10 in France, according to information from franceinfo, collected from the Minister of Health François Braun. This is an experiment carried out in pharmacies in Fréjus, Lille, Paris and Marseille.

These four pharmacies are located near hospitals, which are able to store vaccines at -80°C. The injections will be offered to the people most at risk, that is to say to homosexuals who have several partners and to sex workers, who do not always find an appointment slot in the hundred open centers.

A review of the experiment will be made after 15 days, and could lead to an expansion of vaccination in other pharmacies.

As of August 4, more than 2,400 cases of monkeypox have been identified in France. On the same date, only 18,500 of the 250,000 eligible people had been vaccinated in the 153 vaccination centres.
