A 60-year-old drowned in Cap-Ferret

A sexagenarian died of drowning this Monday, August 8 at the end of the evening on the Plage de la Vigne in Lège-Cap-Ferret in Gironde.

The Gironde firefighters intervened this Monday at the start of the evening, at 6.30 p.m., to rescue a sixty-year-old man on the Plage de la Vigne in the town of Lège-Cap-Ferret in Gironde.

After getting him out of the water, the emergency services tried to revive him without success. The man, a 63-year-old Frenchman, died at the scene.

A dozen firefighters took part in this rescue operation.

Earlier this summer, the prefecture had warned of the dangers of the ocean, in particular after a series of drownings which occurred in May.
