Behind our voices. Julien Clerc and the temptation of the guitar

So we were with Julien Clerc, who was sitting at his piano. But, at this time of our meeting, he hasn’t touched much. Because we talked about another instrument.

In this chronicle Lily wanted to go dancing in public, on the recording made in July 2009 at the Nuits de Fourvière festival in Lyon. On the cover of the disc, Julien Clerc is at the piano but, for this song, he takes an acoustic guitar and he plays the rhythm part – well, especially in the chorus and it is doubled, I was going to say by a true guitarist, Evert Verhees.

In this episode of behind our voicesyou hear excerpts from:

Julien Clerc, Lili wanted to go dancing in public, 2009

The Beatles, Yesterday, 1965

The Beatles, Lady Madonna, 1968

Remember: during the summer of 2019, La Playlist de Françoise Hardy was a crossing of the musical baggage of an author, composer and performer considered as the arbiter of the elegance of pop in France.

In July and August 2017, we spent A Summer in Souchon, during which Alain Souchon guided us on a tasty walk through a lifetime of love for song.
