The Castelroussins were looking forward to it. Finally, the DARC workshop-festival is back! From August 7 to 19, music and dance take over the streets of Châteauroux. This is the 47th edition of the festival born in 1976, which has not been able to take place for the past two years because of the Covid.
DARC is above all the big meeting place for dance enthusiasts. Nearly 650 people from all over the world will meet this Sunday in Belle-Isle for the start of 13 intense days of dance training. Beginners, confirmed, professionals will be able to improve by following the advice of 35 internationally renowned teachers.
25 disciplines are offered: modern jazz, contemporary dance, oriental dance, hip-hop, salsa, Indian dance, flamenco… At the end of the course, the dancers will present their final show at the end of the festival. It will be Friday, August 19. “There is such energy, such happiness, that it is magical”rejoices Éric Bellet, the director of the festival.
The return of concerts on Place Voltaire
In parallel with the dance workshop, concerts will animate the city for the next few days. They have missed the Castelroussins for the past two years! “We feel that this event is part of the Indian DNA, it is important for our city and our department”believes Eric Bellet. The highly anticipated concerts will therefore take place on Place Voltaire between August 9 and 19, every evening from 8:45 p.m.

Darc in the country, the festival is available throughout the department
The DARC course-festival doesn’t just happen in Châteauroux! Between August 9 and 16, concerts are organized in several towns in the Indre department.
