The Taiwan Strait that separates the island of the same name from communist China is a busy shipping channel. The tensions of recent days have a direct impact on international maritime traffic. Arnaud Miguet takes stock of the situation live, Friday August 5th.

The Chinese threat to the island of Taiwan is also economic. “The island of Taiwan is, de facto, under the effect of a blockade, strangled. One out of two container ships passes through the Taiwan Strait, but at the moment, no one dares to venture there”reports Arnaud Miguet, correspondent for France Télévisions Shanghai (China).
