After a year of absence, the Vieux-Saint-Jean Christmas market is back with a new formula adapted to the health crisis. The event will be held on December 4, 5, 11 and 12 at five different locations to allow more visitors and artisans to participate.
This year, it will be possible to discover nearly 90 exhibitors, more than double compared to previous editions. These will be gathered between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Public Market of Vieux-Saint-Jean and at the Haut-Richelieu Museum, at La Loge Espace Photo, 82, rue Richelieu, at the Coopérative art[o], 37, rue Saint-Jacques and at Bistro La Trinquette, 290, rue Champlain.
To facilitate the visit of the five sites, a map with the indications necessary to get to the various places is in each of the markets. Some discounts offered by businesses in the area can also be found on the back of the card.
“The pandemic context limited us and made the organization of a regular Christmas market more complicated. In addition, given that our businesses have gone through difficult times, especially during confinement, our goal was to include them as much as possible during the event ”, explains Katrine Hamel, general manager of the Société de développement Vieux-Saint-Jean. .
Gift boxes
In addition to the five sites mentioned above, where it will be possible to find a variety of artisanal, agri-food products and more, several shops in Vieux-Saint-Jean, including Gypsie Bohème, Chaussures Pierre Roy and Bloom Jardinerie Salon, will take advantage of the opportunity to offer themed gift boxes in store.
“There is something for everyone, whether for foodies, for newborns and even for taking care of yourself. The participating businesses are all close to the exhibitors, so it’s a good excuse to visit them too ”, notes Mme Hamel. The complete list of businesses that offer a selection of themed gift boxes can be found on the vieux-saint-jean.com website.
