The case is coming to an end. And the Girondins de Bordeaux are doing well. For its third and final meeting with the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), Gérard Lopez’s club was authorized, Tuesday, August 2, to strengthen during the transfer window for the Ligue 2 season. But its payroll will be framed, the body announced. The same applies to transfer allowances in the budget, i.e. “the sums paid during the transfer of players”says AFP

This decision was expected, even if the Bordelais have flirted with the red line in recent months.

First relegated following a calamitous season on the sporting level, they were then demoted to National 1 due to poor financial management, then finally drafted into Ligue 2 after President Gérard Lopez presented sufficient guarantees.

If, today, the FCGB payroll is estimated at 17 million euros, according to France Bleu Gironde, the club will necessarily have to reduce the airfoil, which implies the sale of certain players. However, it is a lesser evil insofar as the Girondins risked an outright ban on strengthening.

The room for maneuver is therefore narrow for the club with the scapular, which aims to find the elite as soon as possible. The decision will however allow the Bordeaux leaders to request the approval of the contracts of Yoann Barbet and Vital Nsimba, the first two unofficial recruits of the Girondins, and who were not qualified against Valenciennes.
