The debates between deputies have been complicated since the loss of majority by Emmanuel Macron. Live from the National Assembly, journalist Caroline Motte takes stock, Tuesday, August 2.
“After four intense weeks and repeated night sessions, some MPs say they are exhausted”, explains Caroline Motte, live from the National Assembly, Tuesday, August 2. The parliamentary debates are not over with the last session of questions to the government on Tuesday and the last compromises on purchasing power and the amending budget. Members will then go on vacation.
“The executive is already pleased to have passed several laws without an absolute majority and therefore by finding balances. Until now, the texts were rather consensual, but the start of the school year promises to be different”, continues the journalist. At the beginning of October, the deputies will vote on more divisive bills concerning the energy transition or the rules of unemployment insurance. “The debates are likely to be even more electric”concludes Caroline Motte.
