The principle is simple: shoot at a target that goes from left to right then from right to left and makes several round trips over a timed time. A sport of precision whose rules have evolved: “before, we shot wild boars. Men shoot at 10 or 50m, women only at 10m. With for all rifles from 5 to 7 kilos. “The discipline is non-Olympic, so it is struggling to recruit. Before the covid, we still had 150 participants in the world championships. But there, they will be fewer“says Ghislaine Briez.
In the meantime, this competition will still make it possible to highlight the CNTS which intends to play a central role, both in promoting the various shooting disciplines and in promoting Indre. “After the para-shooting World Cup, receiving a world championship like that will bring international influence to the CNTS. It proves once again that it is a masterpiece in the department and in the French shooting federation” welcomes Sébastien Lebeau, the site director.
The running target competition lasts until August 9. The public can attend for free.
