The Miami Marlins have recalled Quebecer Charles Leblanc. He could play his first game in major league baseball on Friday night, against the New York Mets.

In 87 games this season with the AAA Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Leblanc has batted .302. He also hit 14 homers and drove in 45 runs.
The Lavallois has come a long way. During the pandemic, he squatted baseball fields in Quebec and the United States to train with his fiancée and his father. He drove 33 hours to hit balls in a cage. To finally be told that he was not invited to the training camp of his organization, the Texas Rangers.
In 2021, he was one of the best hitters at the AAA level. This is still the case this year.
The Marlins selected him in the Rule 5 draft last December.
With this recall, Leblanc becomes the third player trained in Quebec to reach the majors this season, after Abraham Toro and Otto Lopez.
