Like her mother, Marilou Berry is not the type to have her tongue in her pocket. She never hesitates to speak her mind and bang her fist on the table. And this famous director, who would have had grossophobic remarks towards her, should not say the opposite. Indeed, the daughter of Josiane Balasko took the floor on Instagram this Friday, July 29 to push a rant and reveal having been the victim of grossophobia.
Inappropriate remarks received during filming, of which she did not reveal the name of the film, or of the series. “The director thought I was too fat. She asked to lengthen my skirts by 15cm because she didn’t like my knees”she explains at first before giving other horrible examples of what she had endured: “she asked me to smile without showing my teeth or not to move my eyebrows because it was ‘not pretty’, asked to hide my cleavage so ‘not to see those nasty stretch marks'”.
His message to fight prejudice
But to think that Marilou Berry was going to accept the requests without flinching would be to misunderstand the actress. As she announced in her story, the actress stepped up and decided to stop this ordeal and not submit to her criticism. “Barely 30 years old, I had the audacity not to believe her and to do as I pleased…”. An example that many subscribers could well follow. It is undoubtedly for this reason that the daughter of Josiane Balasko wanted to address the subject and prove that no one deserves to be a victim of grossophobia.
“Never let anyone put you down”, she concluded in order to give hope to people who have been able to live, or are currently living, a situation similar to hers a few years ago. She was already setting an example a few months ago, in the columns of Humanitywhen she swayed on the set of I promise you.“In season 1, the production wanted me to be really fat, and to wear prosthetics. I refused. Because if they wanted a fatter actress, they had to hire a fatter actress. Period”she revealed at the time.
