Tiphaine Véron disappeared in Nikko, Japan, a week after her 36th birthday. This resident of Poitiers, school life assistant, offered her second trip to the land of the Rising Sun, which she had been passionate about since a first stay in 2013. She was last seen at her hotel on July 29, 2018. young woman, epileptic, had left him to go for a walk, leaving behind her suitcase, her passport and her program of tourist visits. Since then, she has not given any sign of life.

Despite four years of efforts by her relatives, the young woman still could not be found. An investigation was opened in the fall of 2018 by the French justice system, which is in the process of closing the file and dismissing the case. The investigating judge in Poitiers in charge of the disappearance told the family at the beginning of July that the investigations had been completed. The investigating judge will therefore not go to Japan to request additional acts in this investigation.

If the case is dismissed, Tiphaine’s relatives have announced their intention to appeal the decision. It will then be up to the criminal chamber of the Poitiers Court of Appeal to decide.
