Staff Sergeant Clément Carpentier officially took command of the Beauquesne fire and rescue center, in the Somme, on Thursday. He succeeds his predecessor, Chief Warrant Officer Christophe Guimer. This center, made up of 12 volunteer firefighters, carried out 75 operations last year, and has already made 54 sorties since the start of 2022.
Clément Carpentier, assistant to the head of the operation and maintenance service within the departmental council’s river and port management, originally from Amiens, joined Beauquesne in 2000. Raised to the rank of corporal in 2004, then promoted to sergeant in 2017, he was finally appointed master sergeant in 2020. “The Medal of Honor for Bronze Level Firefighters was awarded to him, recalled Colonel Stéphane Contal, director of the SDIS de la Somme, during his speech, “the silver medal cannot be long in the very near future”, he continued.
Colonel Contal also greeted the previous head of the center, Chief Warrant Officer Christophe Guimer, who was awarded the medal of honor of the firefighters level gold for his 30 years of service in 2018. He took command of the center in 2016.
