Sarah El Haïry, Secretary of State in charge of Youth and Universal National Service, was the guest of “4 Truths” on France 2, Wednesday July 27.
The relative presidential majority has been put to the test for ten days in the National Assembly. On the night of Tuesday 26 to Wednesday 27 July, the second part of the provisions on purchasing power was voted with the amending budget, but the government had to give in: 1 billion euros in additional expenditure was notably decided by the opposition. “Co-constructing the law is healthy. Seeking debate is good (…). This is what the French wanted: to have a relative majority, to be the first group, but to seek consensus”highlighted Sarah El Hairy Secretary of State for Youth and Universal National Service, invited to the “4V” set, Wednesday July 27.
The Secretary of State adds that this “consensus is written with LR, with the Socialist Party”before specifying: “What worries me (…) is the outrage, it is the excess (…). This is what we see in the Assembly, these are more words more violent, outrageous, insulting”. With regard to the reforms promised by Emmanuel Macron, can they be voted on if the difficulties encountered by the presidential majority in the hemicycle accumulate as has been the case in recent days? “I am convinced that yes, with the most responsible elected officials (…), we will succeed in ensuring that the interest [des Français] be the priority of our daily life. This means that with LR, the Socialist Party, with all the sensitivities of the majority and certainly with all the men and women who will come out of the political postures of the Assembly to vote what is important in the daily life of the French , we will build this majority”explains Sarah El Haïry.
