A new category of people will be able to receive a second booster dose of a vaccine against Covid-19. The vaccination campaign has been extended to all health professionals, employees of the medico-social sector and firefighters, announced the Directorate General of Health (DGS) on Tuesday July 26.

This new dose “does not fall within the scope of the vaccination obligation”specifies the DGS: it will therefore be administered to caregivers on a voluntary basis.

Until now, it was only accessible to people who were immunocompromised or at risk of serious forms, their relatives and people over 60. It should be given six months after the most recent dose. People who have been infected with Covid-19 since their last injection must respect a period of three months before receiving this second reminder.

In most cases, this is the fourth dose of vaccine against Covid-19, after the two doses of the initial vaccination and the first booster.
