The fire in California, United States, is still not under control. Journalist Diana Schliengerspecial correspondent, takes stock of the situation, Tuesday July 26, live from Mariposa.
In California (United States)a fire near Yosemite Park has already destroyed dozens of homes. The coming hours will be decisive in controlling this fire. “What struck us here, when we arrived in California, was first of all this pungent smell of smoke that grips our throats and this spectacle of desolation”explains Diana Schliengerspecial correspondent to MariposaCalifornia (United States)Tuesday, July 26. A house burned down and its garden table was bent by the heat.
“This fire is impressive for its speed of movement”continues the journalist. From the first hours of fire, at least 55 buildings were affected. A couple had just moved into one of the first houses destroyed by the flames. Now only the chimney remains, which was not burned. “In total, according to the authorities, more than 7,000 hectares have already gone up in smoke”concludes Diane Schlienger.
