Théo is an animator in a campsite in Saint-Cyprien for the summer season. This job is an opportunity for the young man to save money and relieve his parents financially. Brut spent a day with him.
“I’ve always done my summer jobs in animation. I could have done something else, but I’ve been doing animation for a long time, with children, it’s always gone well, and here, with adults, it’s even better, because, inevitably, there are contacts, there are links that are created with holidaymakers, and that’s too good.”
For one summer, Théo is an activity leader at a campsite near Perpignan. With this job, he hopes to save money to finance his studies. “So if I can do it again, I don’t know, four, five, six years in the summer to finance my studies… no problem, what.”
For his season, the young man can stay for free in the campsite where he works. “In our contract, housing is included, so, suddenly, we pay nothing for housing. And on the other hand, we just have the food at our expense. We are paid 10% more than the minimum wage. I think it’s about 1600 gross, something like that”
