Remember these two names: Yanis Routa, 16, and Thibaut Marrocq, 14.
These two athletes qualified this weekend for the BMX world championship, which will take place in Nantes from July 26 to 31. BMX is an extreme bicycle sport, divided into two categories: Race and Freestyle. Freestyle consists of doing rather impressive figures, while Race is simply a race on a track often with bumps.
Yanis and Thibaut both race but do not compete in the same categories. Yanis evolves in the 17 – 24 years old category, and Thibaut in the minimal category.
The mayor of Mont-de-Marsan, Charles Dayot, wanted to receive and congratulate the two young pilots for qualifications to encourage them:
I hope you’ll get people talking about Mont-de-Marsan and that you’ll perhaps bring something back to us, because the goal of an athlete isn’t just to participate! – Charles Dayot, mayor of Mont-de-Marsan
Yanis Routa and Thibaut Marrocq therefore give us an appointment in Nantes from July 26 to 31 for the BMX World Championships.
