Silence, we are walking! An ambulatory route will allow Montrealers and tourists to relive scenes from films shot in the metropolis, to Brooklyn to the saga X-Men Passing by It’s your turn Laura Cadieux. In total, around twenty films will be represented.
Action Montréal !, an initiative of the Francophone film festival Cinemania, will be divided into two parts: a video projection on the facades of the Wilder and the President-Kennedy pavilion of UQAM, from 1er to November 14, and a sound journey that will remain in place until July 2022.
The immersive projection, every evening from 5 pm, “will highlight the richness of Montreal as a filming city through an organic linework that echoes the topography of Montreal”. The curious will be able to learn more about the behind the scenes of the shootings in the metropolis and the development of the special effects.
The audio component, a podcast that will be offered until next July, will give pride of place to stories from the shoot. All you have to do is point your smartphone at one of the 13 QR codes spread across the island of Montreal, including the Old Port, downtown, the Plateau and the Olympic Stadium.
Personalities from the world of cinema such as Monia Chokri, Helen Faradji, François Girard and Jean-François Pouliot will deliver confidences and anecdotes along the way.
The Cinemania festival will be held from November 2 to 14 in theaters in Montreal and from November 2 to 21 online. The full lineup will be announced next Monday.
