It was people who accompanied the 28-year-old individual who reported to emergency services that the man seemed in distress near the private lake on Road 6e rank in Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides, where the group was located.

“Initial information is that emergency services rescued a 28-year-old man who was in distress in a lake. The latter was taken to a hospital in critical condition and there are fears for his life, ”said information officer Nicolas Scholtus, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), on Saturday morning.

The Rimouski resident was not a good swimmer and was not wearing a life jacket, the SQ said Saturday afternoon.
