The COVID-19 pandemic continues to claim lives as Quebec reported 15 new virus-related deaths on Friday.
On a more positive note, the number of patients hospitalized with the disease dipped slightly according to the new data. According to the Ministry of Health, there are 2,088 hospitalized patients, a decrease of 22.
The slight decline is also observed in intensive care units, where there are five fewer patients for a total of 54.
In addition, 1,898 new cases were detected, a number which does not, however, reflect the true state of the spread of the virus since screening tests are reserved for groups of people deemed vulnerable.
Still according to the dashboard of the Ministry of Health, there would be no less than 575 active outbreaks in Quebec.
