Every year they meet. Every year, at the Fêtes de la Madeleine in Mont-de-Marsan first, in July. Cathya and Sandrine, a small part of the group of friends, live in Béziers. “Now it’s tradition, every year we take a week off to come to the Madeleine for ten years”, tell the notary and the nursing assistant. A tradition that has lasted for several years to join their Mons friends.
“We’re going to need a bus to come”
“It’s a long story. We met Mons friends on a trip to Egypt 14 years ago. We haven’t lost sight of each other since, we all fell in love with each other. They came a first time at the Béziers feria. And then they told us that they had the Madeleine. Since then we go there every time, and they come to Béziers in August”they detail.
But that’s not all. Friends of friends are also invited: “The circle of friends is growing. Our friends have met our friends from Mons who are great people. Soon, we’re going to need a bus to come!”, laughs Cathya. And Sandrine adds: “We could even rent a big house because next year we will come with our children who have grown up. Extend to other generations.” By their own admission, the Madeleine is 5 days of letting go.
