Montreal man shot and injured

(Montreal) A 25-year-old man will be saved even though several gunshots were fired at him late Thursday evening in northern Montreal.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) did not report any arrests on Friday morning in connection with this armed attack.

The attack occurred around 11:20 p.m. near a car parked on Place de la Colombière, near the intersection of Olivier-Maurault Avenue, in a residential area of ​​the Ahuntsic district.

According to the first information obtained by the police, an armed individual approached the victim on foot and opened fire several times in his direction, hitting him a few times, before fleeing.

The injured man was taken to hospital and by late Friday night, there was no fear for his life. This is a person who is not known to the police.

A security perimeter was erected at the scene of the shooting. The police found several casings of firearm projectiles on the ground.

Investigators and members of the SPVM canine squad had to comb the scene, look for witnesses and check whether surveillance cameras were able to capture images of the armed attack.
