(Nashville) The Nashville Predators have signed forward Nino Niederreiter to a two-year, $8 million contract, the organization’s president of hockey operations and general manager, David Poile, announced Thursday.

Last season, the 29-year-old Swiss scored 24 goals and 44 points with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Six-foot-two, 218 pounds, Niederreiter has 181 NHL goals and 368 points in 732 games.
He also played with the New York Islanders and the Minnesota Wild.
The Islanders drafted him fifth overall in 2010.
Niederreiter notably finds his compatriot Roman Josi, with whom he won silver at the 2013 and 2018 world championships. Josi is the captain of the Predators.
Niederreiter also played with Ryan Johansen in the American League, with the Portland Winterhawks.
He’s made the playoffs every year since 2014. He’s 15 goals and 30 points in that setting, in 82 games.
