Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed is the new recruit of FC Nantes. He arrives from Galatasaray Istanbul on a one-year loan with an option to buy set at six million euros. This is the third summer reinforcement after the arrivals of Moussa Sissoko and Evann Guessand.
Aged 24, Mostafa Mohamed comes with some experience. Regularly called up with his national team (21 selections), he started in the final of the African Cup of Nations lost to Senegal in February. This skilful scorer with the ball at his feet and a brawler on the pitch, also knows European games: two Champions League matches in 2020-2021 and a Europa League campaign completed in the round of 16 this season. Interesting for FC Nantes who will discover the Europa League.
An attack to renew
This arrival is necessarily welcome for the Canaries whose attack is in full swing. Randal Kolo Muani left for Frankfurt, some (Jean-Kévin Augustin and Kalifa Coulibaly) are out of contract while others (Osman Bukari and Willem Geubbels) returned to their club at the end of their loan period. Without forgetting that other offensive elements like Moses Simon or Ludovic Blas are about to leave. Mostafa Mohamed will therefore try to integrate as well as possible into a new look attack. Before perhaps seeing other players join him.
