Mark Fesneauthe Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, is the guest of “4 Truths” on France 2, Wednesday June 20. He returns to begin with the fires still in progress in Gironde, and the criticism of the government for a lack of resources: “We are the country in Europe with the largest air fleet to fight fires. (…) Civil security has been given a budget that has increased by 44% in the last five years. (…) No doubt it will be necessary to go further to deal with fires of which it is clear that the episodes of drought and heat wave come to make them much more significant.
“In times like this, do you need to fill your pool?”
Mark Fesneau then speaks about the drought that is hitting France, and calls on the French to adapt their use of water: “In times like this, do you need to fill your pool, do you need to clean your car?“ Finally, the minister responds to the criticisms of left-wing MPs who accuse the government of not making enough compromises, particularly in the context of the bill on purchasing power: “Everyone must learn to work with the will to compromise.“
