European Union: the Commission will present a plan to deal with a drop in Russian gas deliveries

Wednesday, July 20, a plan must be present before the European Commission in order to deal with a drop in Russian gas supplies in the coming months. The journalist Julian Gasparuttolive from Brussels (Belgium)explains that the objective is to try to reduce demand by asking the Member States of the European Union to make some efforts: “It is a question of preparing for the worst, warns the European Commission, which will therefore ask the Member States to considerably reduce their gas consumption.“

This reduction in gas consumption “Goes through a drop in heating in winter, air conditioning in summer, with restrictive measures for public and commercial buildings. The most energy-intensive manufacturers will be called upon. Another avenue: diversifying energy sources by favoring renewables.
