35 new deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports Tuesday 35 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 and an increase in hospitalizations.

There are now 1,960 hospitalizations, including 651 due to COVID-19, an increase of 82 from the previous day. Fifty-five people are in intensive care, including 29 due to COVID-19, an increase of 17.

A total of 6,967 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,800.

The Ministry of Health reports 2,219 new cases, for a total of 1,128,282 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 256,395 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 213,651 positives. For the day on Monday, 681 tests were declared, including 598 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 9266 analyzes were carried out on Monday and that the positivity rate is 16.5%.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 56% received a third dose and 16% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 48% sought a fourth dose.
