On the program of this day, the discovery of the local heritage with the cows of the Montbéliarde breed, the cheeses, the residences and castles.
The name of the town of Montbéliard, in the Doubs, generally evokes the factories which are there, like Peugeot. It is a real heritage in the region, which adds to the richness of a territory with a strong character. There are remarkable architectures, especially on the route of the temples, but also culinary specialties such as Montbéliard sausage, an ancient theater or even an adventure museum dedicated to the Peugeot brand.
Remarkable fortresses and unique churches
Vanessa Le Lay from the Pays de Montbéliard tourist office offers you a trip to go back in time in the Pays de Montbéliard. It reveals the history of the Mont-Bart fort, a military construction built between 1874 and 1879, which protects the city as well as the city of Belfort. The fort peaks at 497 meters above sea level, enough to spot approaching enemies.
In Audincourt, you can discover the Church of the Sacred Heart. Its particularity is to have been built after the Second World War. Its construction was completed in 1951. Built thanks to parishioners and religious, this church was also built by artists such as Fernand Léger, who created the stained glass windows of the building.
