When temperatures rise, everything is good for looking to cool off. It can be through food. What should be favored or, on the contrary, avoided, during a heat wave?

What to eat during the heat wave? If the melon is recommended, the watermelon is however to be avoided. “[C’est] a fruit extremely rich in glucose, and glucose secretes insulin to the body, and it tends to make you thirsty“, Explain Violette Petroj, nutritionist. On the other hand, she recommends red fruits, “which are the lowest in sugar“, like raspberries or blueberries.

Vegetables are preferred. Some in particular, the richest in sodium, help to limit dehydration. Fennel and celery are thus good allies. Cooked vegetables are also recommended to aid digestion. Mathieu Dugas, chef of the restaurant Le bar des amis in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), adapts for the well-being of customers. It notably offers a creamy pea, with garden tomatoes and arugula.
