A 31-year-old cyclist lost her life overnight from Saturday to Sunday after being hit the day before by a vehicle with another cyclist in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, in Centre-du-Québec.
The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 265 when the two companions were cycling on the northbound road collided with a vehicle traveling in the same direction, said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Nicolas Scholtus.
When police arrived at the scene, the two cyclists were transported to a hospital.
The 31-year-old succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.
As for the 29-year-old, he was seriously injured, but his life was never in danger.
A collision investigation officer went to the scene on Saturday to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.
