A white march to pay tribute

Yesterday at 6 p.m. a white march was held in Bressuire to pay tribute to the 5 Comorian victims who died in a fatal fire on July 8th. About 500 people gathered in a procession surrounded by the sub-prefect Catherine Labussière and several elected officials.

After about thirty minutes of walking in the town, a speech took place at the scene of the tragedy. There followed several prayers in a moment full of emotion.

Many relatives of the victims were present. Mohamed arrived in Bressuire last Sunday after losing his wife and daughter: “I still think about them every day I’m really in shock“.

Many Bressuirais also came in support. Maxime knew Noah very well, the young high school student who died in the fire: “he was a boy I saw every day. He was smiling and very respectful“.

For the moment, the circumstances of this tragedy have not yet been established. An investigation is underway.
