France 2 devotes a series to the most beautiful islands on the planet. This Saturday, July 16, head off to Costa Rica to discover the island that inspired Jurassic Park.

Alone, in the middle of the Pacific, a lush jungle setting from which escape waterfalls that flow into the ocean. Cocos Island (Costa Rica), is one of those islands that have excited the imagination of men over the years. On the cliff of the islet which guards the access, nature has dug cavities, in the shape of a skull. This place notably inspired Steven Spielberg, for his Jurassic Park saga.

Sixteen visiting tourists first came for the seabed of Cocos Island. All experienced divers, they will follow the outings supervised by their instructors. “Here you never know what awaits you, that’s what makes diving on this island so exciting“, confides one of them. Beneath the surface, an extraordinary spectacle. Cocos is an oasis bubbling with life. For Commander Cousteau, it was the most beautiful island on the planet, especially for its sharks.
