More than 800 km of cumulative traffic jams were recorded this Saturday on the main roads of the country taken by holidaymakers, according to the Bison Futé website which had classified the day red in the direction of departures. The traffic peak was reached shortly before noon with 818 km of cumulative traffic jams, against 623 km last weekend and more than 1,000 a year ago.
The Rhône Valley is the busiest as usual, with around 120 km of delays on the motorway alone A7 between the south of Lyon and Orange (Vaucluse). On theA9 in the Languedoc towards Spain, motorists have to wait for nearly 70 km. L’A10 which connects the Paris region to Bordeaux is also very congested, among the most affected axes. Traffic is still expected to be heavy on Sunday in the return direction.
