Josh Norris is in Ottawa for a long time. He agreed to terms on a new eight-year, $63.6 million contract with the Senators on Thursday afternoon.

This means that he will earn around 7.95 million annually until the end of the 2029-2030 season.
The 23-year-old forward was playing his second full NHL campaign last season. He played 66 of the Senators’ 82 games and was the team’s top scorer, finding the back of the net 35 times. He collected 55 points in total.

Norris was a first-round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2017. The Michigan native was named American League Rookie of the Year in 2019-20, before making the jump to the Senators.
His contract is similar to that of Nick Suzuki, of the Canadian, who begins his eight-year and 63 million contract next season. Suzuki is only three months younger than Norris.
