the RN134 cut after a heavy truck accident at Sarrance

The RN 134 is closed this Tuesday July 12, 2022 at the end of the morning following a road accident. The accident occurred near Sarrance, in the Spain-Pau direction at the entrance to the Aspe valley. It involves a truck transporting bitumen.

According to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques firefighters, it is a tank truck containing 25 tonnes of tar. He lay down on his side, the driver was slightly injured, but the tar was spreading on the road.

The RN 134 road is currently closed in both directions. The road is cut for about thirty kilometers between Gurmençon and Etsaut. A detour was set up at the Porte d’Aspe roundabout in Gurmençon, upstream of the accident. If you are already in the Aspe valley, a diversion has been put in place at the level of the commune of Etsaut. Only residents are allowed to circulate. In addition, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques prefecture is requesting the closure of the Somport tunnel.

The RN 134 is cut over about thirty kilometers between Gurmençon and Etsaut.
