Love, glory and beauty: The shock revelation of an actor on set in the middle of Covid

Since 2013, Thorsten Kaye plays Ridge Forrester in the hit series Love glory and beauty, that the French public can follow on France 2. On the occasion of his visit to the last Monte-Carlo festival last June, the 56-year-old actor confided in our colleagues from TV Star and made an unexpected confidence.

A few months after hitting Wuhan in China at the end of 2019, the coronavirus spread to several countries. A pandemic which has earned confinements in France or even in the United States. During this period, the filming of television series was therefore stopped in order to avoid the spread of the virus. But the shooting ofLove glory and beauty quickly resumed as entrusted by Thorsten Kaye to the magazine (edition of this Monday, July 11, 2022). But the conditions were special to say the least. “It was crazy. We were one of the first series to resume filming. We worked with inanimate mannequins. So we put a mannequin in front of me, to whom I gave the line. Then we would shoot the other part of the scene with another actor and a model in my place. It was very difficult. And kissing a model is very weird. But now, all that is over, even if I kept some models at home (laughs)“said Krista Allen’s playing partner.

The actors can indeed again give the reply since. And all of this has in no way affected the success of the series. “Love, glory and beauty eis the only soap opera that takes place in a real city, in Los Angeles. All the others are fictional towns. When people think of Los Angeles, they have a precise image of it, with supermodels, the sun, the beach. I played in other series with poor characters. It was interesting but the public doesn’t want that. He wants escape“, concluded Thorsten Kaye when asked why the series persisted for all these years according to him.

Remember that‘love glory is beauty has been airing since 1987 on CBS. It is in its 36th season.
