Stromae is one of those singers whose melodies resonate as much as the lyrics make sense. If the 37-year-old artist is very discreet about his family life and in particular the identity of his son, he is loose when it comes to talking about his discomfort in song. As he did recently with his title “Hell”, taken from his album “Multitude” released last March, whose main subject revolves around suicidal thoughts. On January 9, when he was invited on the set of News from TF1, Stromae delivered the moving text of its title. A performance that resonated with many people.

Especially since this Monday, July 11, Sofiane Aklouf, journalist for “Télématin”, returned to the incredible influence of Stromae on the suicide prevention platform since his performance on the TF1 newscast. “As a result of Stromae’s performance on the TF1 newscast, the suicide prevention platform went from 600 calls per day to…110,000”notes the journalist. “Clarification: the total number of calls increased by 13% following the performance of #Stromae, the @3114_appel has had 110,000 calls in all since November 2021! (600 per day on average)”we also learn.
Stromae, faced with his demons, has already been able to count on the support of his little brother Luc Junior Tam when he hit rock bottom. “My brother clicked”confided the singer during a report broadcast on W9 in December 2021. “He realized there was something wrong. And I think if he hadn’t been there, I would have probably committed suicide that night. That’s for sure. I am weighing my words carefully when I tell you this. If he hadn’t been there, I don’t think I could be talking to you today.”
